92 Mustang 2.3 tach inop..idles rough..CEL inop

HELP. I am working on making my nieces Mustang road worthy for her 16th bday. The tach does not work..the check engine light does not come on for a bulb check or anytime. I am unable to pull codes with a code reader or a snap on scanner. It says no communication. I replaced the ecu with a known good one and nothing changed. The main issue is that the car runs nice cold but after running for a few minutes (like once it gets in closed loop) it runs poor. Shakes and in gear (automatic) it runs rough. Any help would be appreciated. [email protected]

I would replace the DIS module, Running rough with no tach is a good indication that the module has gone bad. You can try to have it tested, but last time i tried having one tested Both stores tested everything as Bad, even the new ones. The DIS module is located on the Intake manifold.

I'm just gonna throw a module at it and see what goes. It may be kinda weird for me to "feel the problem" cause the two plug thing. Not familiar with it.
