I've searched and gotten some answers already but they don't seem to work for me.
'93 GT w/ underdrive pulleys, no a/c, no smog pump or idler pulley. Apparently it should be a 70.5" belt. The 70.5" belt is too long... it's rubs on itself. Tried a 70" belt but that won't even fit on without the tensioner. Way too short. WTF? Any suggestions? The only thing I can think of is that the 70.5" belt (Goodyear) and the 70" belt (NAPA) are different brands. Will try to find a 70" Goodyear belt to see if that fits.
Any help / suggestion is greatly apppreciated!

You need to relocate your PS pump to where your AC used to be and route the belt like this:

^ yup i had too "guess" what size belt i needed for no a/c (not all cars are the same) wrap a piece of string around the pulleys while turning the tensioner with a wrench and mark it with a finger then measure it and this is the belt length needed. what i did is i went to a auto parts store and got two belts, one larger and one measured length and found which one fits, once i found it i returned the other one. but at first the belt wouldnt fit because i routed it wrong so make sure the belt is on right.

That's what I can't figure out. One size up is too loose and one size down is too tight. I can't figure out how 1/2" makes such a difference on that cirfumference. I've got it it routed correctly unless I am missing something.

try taking the belt off and routing it different ways, i dont know try wrapping it around the crank first then try routing it to the left or to the right around the water pump, there are different way to route but its hard to explain. look at the diagram above and imagine looking down at your engine the belt on the smog pump side going down to the crank should be straight i think thats how it is on mine. routing it a certain way makes it shorter and another way longer
