Anyone heard of Boost Brothers Turbos

There is some discussion about it. I did not read it all, and I don't know if anyone has even used the system before.

I just read that link on turbomustangs and yeah I would stay away from that junk. There was a thread about it a week or so ago on here as well. As was said the turbo is junk among othe things.

I think its also pretty cheesy how they try and entice you or something by plastering some half dressed woman all over the kit.

Ya know man why dont you just buy a B&G hotside (the hard part as you know) a slap yourself together a cold side (as I know you know how) and be done with it. Then pick up an MP T70 and call it a day.

Looks cool. Dunno if I'd buy it. So far the forums have a lot of talk and speculation which means nothing. ..but yet to see anyone who has actually installed it and used it and can post facts from results. How much boost will it put out? only enuff for a stock stang?

I hear ya black stampede, I know i can build another setup myself, but saw a deal on craigslist and was considering being lazy haha!

Oh whell, i guess i will pass...I would be much happier with a t70, then that unknown brand

was it you that said you got a cheap master power online somewhere? What was that site?

Even the Pro Turbo kits are down below $5K now. I don't see the incentive in buying something like that when you can get a decent kit for not much more.

these kits were on e-bay for 1200 bucks for our cars a few weeks ago, I think they've gone back up to around 1500 or so...but if they were good they'd be up in the 3k range and there'd be buzz about them

Boost Bros Turbo Kit

I bought one of these kits about a year ago. Got several other cars, so the 95 Beater has been sitting for over a year.....Blew the cobwebs off it and my 19 yr old son made his first pass down the track in it.......then made 17 more passes in the next 4 hrs........Good Stuff.
Well anyway, I am going to get the 95 back in the garage and put this kit on it with him. So I started looking for reports to get info on installs, problems, hints. Ya know the scoop.
I just read through 5 different, very lengthy posts about people installing these. NONE of them had anything really bad to say, other than maybe the turbo and wastegate were cheaper knockoffs than some of the other kits.
BUT also no failures of any kind. Most of the comments were of how NICE the kit was and the welds.
I have to admit I was def. skeptical when I got mine, but figured for the price (I think I paid 1100 to the door) I'd try it and if it was junk I'd use some of it to fab my own kit. I do not work for, associate, or KNOW anyone that works for Boost Bros........so don't go there.

I posted this to say how disappointing it is to see that this in the only site I found that was bashing the product AND it seems all those with input (not newbies either) have never seen, touched or otherwise had any experience with the kit...???? I mean if YOU or your BUDDY bought the kit and want to say it sucks, cheap crap I could understand......
No one with a kit installed would probably venture hear after the things posted. OR maybe they figure anyone who thinks "$5000 is only a lil more than $1200" should just keep on spending..........

I'll move on. thanks for the insight!

i also dont work for em but have 2 freinds with this kit..quality is great on the piping and welds...the turbo just gets the job done...and as the last jent said the blow off can deff be upgraded..but worth every penny for the do it yourselfer and broke racer...which is most of us with this economy..i would buy it if i could get passed the nevada state emitions...but as allways all my hook ups get greedy and caught.so it on to an vortech si trim for me.

on3 performance (another cheap turbo company) seems to have a huge following on corral. I think i've read that turbomustangs = BGturbo and corral = on3

On3 89GT build - Corral.net : Ford Mustang Forums

Anyway, that guy seems to be running well.

I think I might buy one of these this winter. I figure at worse the hotside and turbo go bad, then I buy a bg hotside and t76 and be done. At best the hotside lasts for a while and I upgrade to a t76 then.

I have found no bad news about one of these kits other then the naysayers because it's cheap. One post I found was from the car that is on their website. He said it's been over 1 1/2 years and 20k plus miles and still doing fine.

Stay away from Boost Brothers. I repeat, stay away. They are up here in New Hampshire. He works out of his house and he sold a kit to a friend of mine with an 05' gt and he had nothing but problems. Cheap chinese turbo and wastegate. Also, pipe work leaves a lot to be desired. He ended up buying a turbonetics turbo and wastegate from Helion.
