Seems to me that this type of question pops up once every few months over getting the 96-98 taillights for the 5.0's. I think its time to let everyone see the majority vote on the topic since there's always opposing sides.

odds are the poll will be swayed to the 94-95 side because thats the forum you are in. Try another poll in the 4.6 96 up section.........then compare the two..

i say let everyone know you have a 5.0 by keeping the stock tail lights.

The reason why Im only posting this in the 5.0 section is to show that the majority of 94-95 owners like to keep the horizontal taillights. Rather than making a fobra or faleen type of thing.

I have the 96-98 tail lights. They were on the car when i bought it.. I think they look better then the horizontal ones. But sometimes i think i would rather have the horizontal ones cause everyone thinks my car is a 4.6. Even though it says 302 on the hood. When i tell dumb people its a 5.0, they are like whoa you changed the 4.6 to a 5.0??

When they first came out, I would have killed to have those lights, then I realized that they look more "classy" and not so much "sporty" if you know what I mean.

My Vote: HORIZONTALS!

All you gotta due is wet sand the lights with 1000 grit, then buff them out really hard with Turtle Wax Polishing Compound.!

I am doing it right now. I started out at like 400, and I am slowly making my way up to 2000. They should turn out pretty clean once I am done. I will put a clear coat on top of them once they are all done.

In the name of science, I have started a poll in the 4.6L talk forum . It should be as skewed in favor of 96-98 as this one is skewed in favor of 94-95.

94-95!! the only nice thing about the 96-ups is that you can install sequential blinkers.

The horizontal lights look great especially w/ the car lowered and some big meats on the back! The horizontal lines really flow with the rest of the car.

When I bought my Stang , I buy with one tail lights broken , so I have choice , 94-95 , 96-98 or clear tail lights ,
Than I make decision , my car isn't Honda ( no clear tail l.) , I have 302 (no 96-98)
Then I bought on Ebay pair 94-95 tails , I put some black paint on bazel ( looks almost like Saleen), than two times with clear coat

And some people gonna say "damn ,thats last year for 302"
