Ok folks, bear with me here... I have some more questions for you. :)

I've been looking around at different options as far as what to do about the tranmission in my fiance's car (see previous thread). As far as I can tell, she has the AOD transmission. That being the case, I can get a junkyard tranmission for $275 with exchange. Since I've changed many transmission, the thought of doing that doesn't worry me a bit.

I've been doing a bit of thinking. I've been into Jeeps for a number of years now, and what most Jeepers do when something major breaks or is failing (especially driveline related), they look into possible upgrades for it. The reason being, is that the stock driveline components for the most-part won't stand up to the continued punishment of frequent offroading (depending).

With that train of thought in mind, I was wondering if there was a different bolt-in option I could look into for maybe a slightly higher amount of money & minimal ass-pain instead of the AOD. I'd go manual, but as stated before.. it's my fiance's car and she really likes driving an automatic. Somebody I was speaking with on another board mentioned a C4.

As I said, I'm really new to the world of Mustangs.. so I have no idea what's good and what's not. If a C4 is an option, what possible donor vehicles came stock with those?

THoughts? Opinions? Comments?

Thanks in advance. :)

The car has an aode not an aod. I wouldent put in a 94-95 aode from a jy becuase you will still have the same problems down the road. I would look into a 99+ mustang v6 trans from a jy. You will have to swap some of the electronics out and change the tais shaft. It's all pretty easy to do. I thinks it's don95conv ro donconv95 who has a site on what you have to change to use a newer auto in an older auto setup. You might have to look him up on the corral.

I'm definitely for that option if I can find a good write-up for it. :)
