He's gonna kill ya.

You're carrying all that extra weight of the stuff you listed that won't add one, single, horse power.

A stock Z-28 ran the 1/4 in just over 14 secs. Your LX ran high 15's, almost 16 sec quarter. You may have picked up enough power to get you into the high 13's. His 4.10's and exhaust are enough to pull him into a really high 12, low 13.

Ok that makes sense. Another buddy's got a 4.6 GT, mods include 4.10s, a can tune (Bama power flash) Accufab 70mm TB & Plenum, JBA catless H pipe, SLP loudmouth 2 mufflers, full length SFCs, & hitch kid rear LCAs. How do you suppose we'll stack up?

You've got the right mods for a high 12 second car on sticky tires. You should be putting out 300 at the flywheel give or take.. He's just got an old lt1 350 SBC in a heavier body.. You should be able to take him no problem

Also to the above poster, 5.0 5 speed cars were rated 14.3 in the quarter off the lot, it was the aod cars pushing 15/16 seconds

You have a severe hp and torque penalty. Assuming you drive equally and both have good grip, I don't think you can take him. The weight difference isn't drastic enough, methinks.

edit: If the world wide web isn't lying, there's a ~250kg difference between a 4th gen F-body and a Fox GT. Sheesh. I didn't know the they were so heavy.

I'm not totally sure anymore. My BMW can punch above its class because I've gutted it. I can usually outpace a car that's 250 kg heavier and has 100 more horsepower, so I really think it's a driver's race at this point. Basically, try to keep him behind you until the finish line.

You're wrong shoomakan, a 94 z28 is only putting out 260 HP, his fox with gt40 heads will be 40-50 HP more than the z28

Don't forget, the camaros didn't get ls1 engines till 98

Doesn't Eaton posi mean a positive displacement SC? IE the car is supercharged?

I took it to mean a posi traction unit in the rear end.

Good question

I don't think Eaton make differentials, but I'm not sure.

Either way, if not SC'd, then I think the Fox is faster. If SC'd, I am not sure. LT1 heads are not that bad stock... it could be make good power.

No supercharger. He has the factory 10 bolt with this posi unit
http://www.drivetrainamerica.com/p-...?CAGPSPN=pla&gclid=CIL8psP5nMICFchlfgodEmsAhQ

Not an LS1 car either. I honestly don't like the f bodies, I think they're ugly, hate the 10 bolt rear, hate the opti spark ignition. Do like the LT1 otherwise, love the T56.
All I know is his car is healthy, pulls hard. But IMO so does mine

As for the 4.6, I think I'll take him. My car feels faster. I believe we're pushing similar power levels, but his car is heavier.

I think it's yours then. He has you slightly outgunned but you're much lighter. Unless he's running slicks and you're not, which you didn't specify.
