95 Cobra motor ????? HELP

Buyin a 95 Cobra and was wondering a few things about the motor... wonder if you guys can help.. I was wonderin if any special attention has been givin to these cars shortblocks, like (forged pistons?? hand built??? etc.) also I was wondering if AFR 185's will work on it without changing the pistons, and just how limited are my cam options.. any info would be appreciated.. thanks

I wouldn't refer to it as "special attention". The short block is the same as it is for the non Cobras. The Ford AFR 185s are setup to make use of the stock valve reliefs so clearance should not be an issue for most cam installs. I believe the internals are all forged with the exception of the crank which is cast. Some cars had or have hyperetic pistons but I don't think that the 95 was one of them. I'll let someone who knows the specifics about years etc. verify which ones did or did not.

AFR185 will have valve clearance issues,the 165's will not. And yes the 95's have the cheap cast pistons!
