Ok so my gf was cleaning out her 95 GT and she dropped a penny in the cigarette lighter and there a big spark. The lighter does not work now and you cannot adjust the drivers seat. She told me that she read on some other tech boards that the #30 fuse may have blown. Apparently they said that the #30 fuse was associated with both the cigarette lighter and the seat. So I changed that for her and nothing. Are there other fuses I should check out or maybe there is a short in the wiring somewhere down the line?

Here's a couple of wiring diagrams that may be helpful - http://www.mustang-tech.org/wiki/94-95_Mustangs_Electrical_Fuses

Power seat and lighter fuse are on a 20 amp fuse. Power seat, lighter and aux power socket are all on the same 20 amp fuse. If she has power seats and they work I'd start checking grounds and for shorted wires.

I blew mine the same way a few days ago. The fuse that blew also controlled my turnsignals??

Try checking the fuses with a test lite to find a bad one.

The fuse I had put in didnt work. Although at the time I wasnt sure if it was the proper amp fuse. Ill have to check it again.

Oh and vp6799, what is this test lite you speak of?

I had the same problem with my power seat not working, checked the fuse and it was blown so I replaced it and the seat worked yesterday. Now today it isn't working again and I found that the cig. lighter was broken off in the socket so I pulled what was left out and now I'll change the fuse again. I hope this fixes it otherwise I don't know where to go from here.

A test light is something you can use to check the fuses to find a bad one. You clip the aligator clip to a good ground and then touch the metal tips on top of the fuses with the key on. It should light up when you touch both sides of the fuse. If it lights up only on one side of the fuse, then you can look at it to see if it's blown.

Here's a pic of a less expensive one. Autozone or a local parts store should carry one of these.
