95 GT won't start

I just bought a theft recovery 95 gt that I am planning to build as a project.
My first problem is getting it to start. I turn the key and nothing happens. The gauges were removed before the car was recovered, will this prevent the car from starting??

you should be able to start it w/o gagues... I don't think there is a kill switch built in... your sensors could have been messed up though... and that could be telling the computer not to let it start...

well, tell us more... what is it/isn't it doing? clicking? trying to turn over but isn't... doing nothing? do the headlights and other electronics work? details man!

All windows work, top works, headlights work, interior lights work mirors work.
When I turn the key no click no nothing. Any ideas appreciated. I guess you are supposed to be able to start it with no gauges.

not even turning over??? when you turn the key does the fuel pump kick on??? is the computer even there??? is the CCRM???? I helped a friend with a theft recovery and it wouldn't start but the computer was missing and we didn't even know it

This may seem dumb but if its a 5-speed, push in the clutch when you go to start it.

Check the starter connections. If the wires aren't tight the starter might not be getting power. Could be the starter coil too.

Thanks for the help. The thieves cut the starter wire and were connecting it through a seperate switch to the battery.
