My brother in Law wants to buy a Mustang. He has narrowed it down to a 95GT or a 00-01 GT. If he buys the 95GT he will have $5000 left over for mods and if he buys the 00-01GT he will have nothing. I told him to get the 5.0 but he is unsure about the reliability of the pushrod engine. I went to go inspect this 95GT for him and it is in mint condition interior, exterior, and engine bay looks like its brand new right out of the factory, no sign of wear and it only has 85,000 original miles. The 95 GT already has the following mods 17" Polished Eagle Rims Z Rated Tires 4 Piece Diamond Headlights Billet Grill Steeda Spoiler White Face Gauges Carbon Fiber Dash Trim Mustang Pedal Cover Kit Eibach Lowering Springs Tokico Gas Shocks and Struts Subframe Connectors Rear spring Isolators Steeda Triax Short Shifter Cobra Clutch Mac Cold Air Fenderwell Intake BBK 65mm Edelbrock Throttle Body Edelbrock Throttle Body Adapter Edelbrock Intake Manifold headers H-Pipe Hi-Flow MAC Cat Back Exhaust 24# injectors Adjustable Idle Spacer .

The 01 GT only has a knn filter and a catback. But he will also have a $300 a month Parts budget for either car he buys.

5.0's are cool I've owned an 82 and 87 but with 85k miles your going to have all the little things that nickel and dime you to death and if your going to really mod this motor it will need to be gone through. I guess the question is does he want a drag car for the weekends or a daily driver because the 5.0 is going to have issues if used every day and that sucks.

85k miles on a car 3 or 4 years old thats been driven on the highway is a lot different than a car that's 10 years old and all the seals drying out in it.
