Hey guys, I know the whole lowering spring thing has been beaten to death but I was wondering if anyone knew whether the 96-04 H&R super sport springs would work on a 94. The spring rate for the 96-04 are 590-680 lb/in while the 94-95's are 700-780. The 96-04 super sports should ride better than the 94-95's right? I know that they'll fit I just don't know if it would be a good idea or not. Both advertise the same 1.75 in drop in the front and both have the same spring rate in the rear. Thanks for the help.

Just in case anyone else runs across this thread ....

The 94-95's do NOT lower the same amount as the 96-04 Super Sports (per StangSuspension.com).

94-95 = 1.75" Front & 1.6" Rear

96-04 = 1.6" Front & 1.5" Rear

On my 94 vert, the H&Rs dropped it to much. Over 2" in the back and close to 3" in the front. My springs are tagged 94-04.

Yessssss! Finally some replies! lol According to H&R's website they lower the 94-95's 1.75in and the 96-98's 1.75in. in the front. On another note, just last week I FINALLY got my car lowered with what else, H&R Super Sport Springs for the 94-95's. I also got Tokico Illumina shocks and struts and Maximum Motorsports CC Plates and couldn't be happier with the ride. I do wish it was little bit lower though. I got these from StangSuspension and highly recommend them. PM me if you want some coupon codes for some of this stuff.

So what's the reason for the difference in spring rates between the '94/95's vs '96 up? Are the '94/95's heavier? if so, by how much?
