96-98 spindles on fox

Hey guys and gals I was wondering if any one has used the 96-98 spindles up front on a fox with 17 by 8 bullets. I already tried searching but almost every search I found was with a 94-95 spindle. The reason I ask is because I want the front tires to be even with the fender, so with the 96-98 spindle I was thinking it would put it right there... Any thoughts or pictures would be great... thanks

Well... Best advice i can give you is learn how to figure out back spacing and off set. Then figure out what wheel you want to buy and find out what the backspacing and offset is. Then measure it and if you need the rim to stick out 8mm more then buy the 96-98 spindle. But my 18x9 sits flush with a 24mm offset and the 94-95 spindle. Now if you got a rim with a 24mm offset that was 17x8 and used the 96-98 spindle you would almost be flush with the fender like you want. You rim would sit in further 4mm's. Which is really nothing.

17x8s on a 96-04 spindle will work fine. I'll post a pic in a minute. Thats what I am going to run!

Thanks for the help guys ... Grey5.0 are those the 17 by 8 ford racing bullets up front ? Streetrod's stang looks hot with those wheels...

Well the 94-95 Spindles are about 5mm Wider per Side over Stock Spindles, the 96-04s are another 8mm Wider Per Side, so you will have to figure up what Wheels you want to Order

The wheels I want are the 17 by 8 bullets from AmericanMuscle.com which have a 5.72 backspace with a 30mm offset.

With the 96-98 Spindles up Front I would consider Factory Ford S197 Bullitt Style Wheels, I believe the Backspace is 6.22" and you shouldnt have any problems locating them from the 05-07s.

I never really thought of this, but it sounds like this could be the way to go. I totally forgot about the s197 wheels, thanks for mentioning it bro...

Yep, they are fore sale $300 takes them. Thanks, here are the new wheels 17x9 with +28 offset with 96 spindles. No rubbing and they do not stick out. I run a 235/45/17 tire. I had a set of 17x9 Halibrand rims with 5.5 backspacing and they stuck out about .25 inches.

that does look nice. I was also wondering if a 17x9 rim would fit a fox with just the stock 4 lugs. dont know tire size yet.
