Posted this over in the 4.6 section too but wanted you guy's opinion as well

Whats one worth? Theres one close by for sale. I have been drooling over this car for months. I happen to notice it sitting in a weird spot last night. Looked today and its for sale. Guys asking 9,000 OBO. Car looks to be in great shape needs a good wash and wax. Chrome on the rims looks good but the back side could use some cleaning. Didn't see the engine and not sure of the miles.

What y'all think?

I wouldn't bother unless it was completely perfect and with low miles. I saw one the other day that I would have paid $9k for, it looked brand new.

How much are the paint repairs on a mystic?

And 9,000 is close to what Mach 1's are going for...

I dunno. The purple and green never did anything for me. Its sweet cause its a unique stang, but say if they built a million of them, the actual look of the car isnt what makes it so popular IMO. Its rare so people want it. I could see if i was older, with more money, and was gonna start a little collection. Then i'd get a mystic and let it sit in the garage. But if im gonna drive it often....i'll pass for now.

A car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I wouldnt pay 9,000 for it, i'd go get a black 96-98 cobra for less. But thats me. If you want it, get it.

Well we all know I like different haha. I always said I'd never drive a purple car but a Mystic is The price is getting mixed reviews. Some says its not bad others say its kinda high. I don't even know if the bank would give me another loan. I still owe over 5000 on my truck and over 1000 on my camera loan. I've been putting a lot towards the camera loan to get it paid off early so that might make them happy

True but the camera loan is a 5 year loan. I have put over 1500 on it in probably less then 3 months. My next payment isn't till like Sept of next year I've paid so much on it. It will be paid off really soon so that doesn't worry me.

I have money in the bank but its for my truck project. The bank don't really need to know that though.

My mom said "you get this one you getting rid of the other one then" I said "hell no I'll get rid of the Explorer" of course she had to mention the need for a 4 wheel drive. I told her I have a plan haha. Buy the Cobra and keep the Explorer till the truck is finished then sell it. I could put the money from selling it towards the loan then.

I think all this out lol

lol i can see it now ... there'll be a sweet jetski for sale, then a killer bike, then your company will downsize or something

obviously you can and will decide for yourself what to do, and i'm not going to tell you what to do, but please try to keep in mind that unexpected **** can come up and then all of a sudden you are in over your head.

i wouldn't spend that much money i didn't have for something like that. but that's just me

Paint repairs are nearly impossible on those and here's why: The base coat is actually a green color. That green color was found to be extremely similar to the green the United States treasury uses to mint dollar bills. Getting it is a pain in the azz.

I've been driven in one of these cars, never had the chance to drive it myself. Its a bit of a dog down low to be honest, but right around 4500 rpms you can hear an audible click from the engine and the thing turns into a god damn rocket ship. Its like a turbo spooling up. The kid that owned it, my coworker's brother, sold it because he needed the money and my coworker kicks himself that he didn't find the money to buy it and keep it in the family. The car was beautiful in person, pics don't do it justice until you see it.

If he has the stock hood, then I'd offer 8K, if not, offer 7K cash (providing its mint). Just my two cents.

I work for a non emergency ambulance and wheelchair van company. Things are slow at times but there will always be sick and hurt old people that need transported. I understand what your saying though. I did lose my last job.

I don't really like jetski's. I'd rather have a boat lol. I have a bike already so I don't need another one.

My plans are finish the Ram, Fix/rebuild/build a stock block based something or other/514 the Mystery Machine (still haven't decided what I wanna do for the time being. Thinking hold off on the 514 till I can drop it in and drive it when ever. Which will be a few more years), Get a place of my own. I'm 26 will be 27 in October and yes I still live at home. It bothers me sometimes but its not a total big deal to me that I still live here

but on a side note. Why does that matter? she could have asked even if I didn't live at home. I have a few people telling me all the time I don't need another stang. I talk about wanting another one all the time

I have always been a fan of the Mystic 96...

I am looking at picking one up in excellent condition, with absolutely 0 modifications. 100k miles for right under $8k. Good Deal? Im hoping to hold out a lil bit longer before I give in, in hopes that the price will drop.

it doesn't matter at all, i just noticed it and it made me wonder if you were younger and more, um, obligated (for lack of a better word) to do what she tells you to do.

best of luck to you with whatever direction you decide to go.

have you looked into what the insurance would be on it?

LOL dude I haven't "listened" to my parents since I was 18. They disagree with 99% of the decisions I make.

The thing I love is when I find something. Say a car for instance. To me my dad will be like yeah its nice blah blah. Talking it up. Then if I buy it and my mom bitches. My dad will be like I didn't say anything I thought it was a bad idea too

Lets logic this out a second. You have a mustang that doesnt work. You have a truck that doesnt work. You have a bunch of debt. You want to buy a $9,000 rather impractical car. I will let logic have its say rather than state any opinion I may have.
