97 4.6 overheated - misfires?

my 97 got hot and now misfires. it did not overheat. it ran fine until i was about a block away fron home then it started to misfire a bit.it got hot because lack of water. the needle did not peg. i checked the oil dipstick and did not find water. just want to make sure the head gasket did not go. any other places to look???

Check the sparkplug journal's for antifreeze,my intake cracked where the heater core tube mounts to the back of the intake it was filling the #4 sparkplug journal with antifreeze causing it to buck and misfire,just thought i would throw that at you.
