Is anyone running a stage 2 street/strip cam from Crower? I'm looking into it for my 97 cobra mustang. If you run a different cam please tell me about your experience.
I'm looking for good street/strip cam and heads. All my internals are stock and the car only has 45K on it. It also has 3:73 gears now. I may go to the track a couple times this summer with my son. He runs his '99 Z28 on street night. It's all about spending time with my boy, but I would like to run somewhat close to his Z. I was looking at Sean Hyland engines and they have nice parts but I'm not sure. It seems like after all that work and money it might be easier to go with a Kenne Bell Super charger. Any thoughts? BTW, my sons Z is stock except for long tube headers and exhaust.

I know Dogg, but how hard can you push this 97 4V with stock internals? If you have a better way to spend that kind of money, I'd like to hear it. I'm retired and this is my baby. But I want my baby to have some longer fangs. I would like to hear your input. Im always learning.
The Crower Stage II's are extremely mild cams (as are most of their grinds)and will add little to no performance gain over stock. The 96 - 98 Cobra cams are the most aggressive cams put in a 4.6 DOHC engine so I'd consider going to a different manufacturer like Competition Cams to get the increase you're looking for. I'd look at their 106100's. They have decent duration but provide good torque and not alot of lope. Unlike the Crowers they dont require springs so you save almost $500 there while sacrificing little to no power. Take that money and have the runners shortened on your intake manifold. Between the 40+ HP you'll get from the cams and the extended RPM range of the short runner intake you'll be very happy. Be careful not to suck your kids windshield out as you fly by.
