i've been looking for a cup holder bezel for my 98 cobra but i can't seem to find anyone who makes one. i've also considered using the space for a line lock switch or other switches but they are not available for the 98 cobra. anyone know of any companys that make these items for the 98 cobra. the design is different from anyother year so i guess why its diufficult to find anything for this space. i don't drink in the car so i have no need for the cupholders and i'm putting in all billet items from upr to dress up the interior but the cup holder bezel does not exist as far as i know.

I am gonna put in a 97 or 99 console. 98 cupholders are worthless.

I wonder if the console itself is the same as a 97 and you could put a 97 ash tray and door on there. Then it would be easy to make a plate to put anything you want in there.

The 99 Cup holders are crap too

The cup holders are crap in the 99 model as well. The smaller one in front that holds most common sized drinks gets knocked over when shifting from 1 to 2, 3 to 4, ect. The larger one in the back for "big gulps" blocks any reasonable access to the shifter. Look for the 01-04 instead.

You do not have to change the console in order to use the 99-00 cup holder- it will fit the 98 console just fine. The rear cup holder on the 99-00 work fine- it is the front cup holder that gets in the way of the shifter when going for 2nd gear.

Just remember the the 99+ consoles will not match the interior- Ford changed from black to a charcoal color.

1998 Drink Holders are worthless, what can we do?

I just purchased a 1998 Cobra and I often grab a coke when I drive and there's no place for it. The front cup holder is in the way of the Gear Shift, the back one is too loose and the coke will spill, and its still in the way. My last Mustang was a 1997 and it had a cool cup holder that flipped out of the center console. I wish this one had it also. What can we do to be able to hold a cup and shift at the same time?
