98 Engine Tick Or Knock

I was recently reading some forum threads about engine ticks and knocks. I have a slight tick and I read a thread that was talking about an under drive pulley kit that didn't seat all the way on a piggyback system. I believe I have the same problem and was looking for that thread or anybody that has dealt with this issue. Thanks for your time and help.

Ok, I found the thread I was looking for. So for anyone that has put underdrive pulleys on their engines and have had a tick, chatter or knock. You might want to check out the harmonic balancer. I guess the timing chain sprocket on the crank is sandwiched between the balancer and the crank and if it isn't torqued down right it will cause the sprocket to rattle between them. Not positive that this is what's up with mine but Ima pull mine and reinstall it making sure to torque it down good and I'll let you guys know if it worked out for me.

I'm not sure yet. I pulled my harmonic and it had excessive wear around the snout. So I just purchased a new one and haven't got around to installing it yet. Garage isn't heated and we haven't been above zero in weeks.
