Since you have all those mods, you may could run with if not edge out a bone stock 99+GT. Its actually hard to say. The best mod you got going for you is the 4.10 gears.

the 4.10s are the best mod if you can get the traction. everything else being equal, driver and tires, the 99 will probably beat you. probably still 2-5 tenths slower. driver will determine. The 99 still has at least a 20 hp advantage , probably more. What is your 1/8 mile time?

It would be close. Your gears give you the advantage off the line if you can hook. After that, Hp wins in the long run and he has more. Do a headswap and take him.

Sorry, I must agree with forpit2kgt. Would be a close race, but the edge goes to the 99 because of the approx. 20hp advantage.

I'm not sure if this is a stupid question, but how does the 99+ still have a 20hp advangtage over the 98 after he put all those mods into it? Don't 98 GT's have 240hp stock or am I wrong?

98 gt's were 225 flywheel stock I believe. With the mods I've seen they end up around 200rwhp +/-

'96-'97 GTs have 215 hp.
'98's have 225 hp.

Stock for stock a '99+ GT will have about a 45 - 50 rwhp horsepower advantage over a '96-'98, with your mods I'd say you have about 200-205 rwhp, 20 - 25 rwhp less than a '99+. I think your 4.10s will offset that in a drag drace meaning it's a driver's race as long as the '99+ is basically stock.

Those 4.10s should make it just about even. The biggest thing is how would each car hook up, it might come down to rubber (I'm asuming that your suspension and weight profile are stock since you didn't list those). If your suspension and weight profile are not stock you would gain even more of an advantage. Springs and shocks/struts have been shown to take between .1 and .2 off of your 1/4 time just because they can keep all of the weight in the right places which gives you better hook-up than the stock stuff.

I wanna play with some 99's. Mac H-pipe, Flowmaster Catback, FRPP pullies, 3.73's, M/T ET streets, mac upper and lower control arms, eibach's, FRPP alum. d/s, centerforce dual friction clutch, steeda t/a, rear seat delete kit, Mac CAI, Pro 5.0 shifter, nothing in the trunk. I haven't found any around here to come n play.

With all my mods besides the headswap I raced a 2000 GT auto and beat him by a car or 2. I think with a 4.10 and a five speed you should win, well at least for sure against a '99 auto.

Although you have 4.10's the power still isn't there to get any real advantage from them.

Whats really sad is that I had a tangle with a Supercharged 96 GT and I still beat him. So I guided him here and a couple other places for info on head swaps.
