I Have a 98 GT with the 4.6 and there is this black plastic crankcase vent tube that runs from the drivers side over to the cold air intake tube, does anyone know why these are plastic? and if it would cause a problem if i replaced it with a metal tube? I have bent and polished a metal tube to look like chrome and it would look much better, but my concern is will the metal tube get too hot and then make the fumes going back into the cold air too hot and cause engine problems? that may be the only reason i can think of that they made them plastic, and i cannot find any chrome or alum dress up ones anywhere,... any thoughts?
