98GT speedo calibration?

all i need is a gear for the trans right, arent speed cals for 99+ cars?, my car currently has 373's and my speedo is correct (gears installed by previos owner) but im not sure how it was corrected

if it is a gear, where can i find one for 4:30's

Speed cal works for 94-04 I believe. Hand held tuners will not correct for new gear ratios on 94-98 cars though.

Ford pretty much covers speedo gears down to 3.73. Beyond that, you have to go aftermarket or the Speedcal.

Two options.
1. Pull up your outer shift boot and look to see if there is a speedcal box in there, since that is where it would be connected inside the car.
2. Find the vehicle speed sensor - it's under the car, driver's side toward the back end of the midpipe. If you have a speed cal, it would be connected to that.

I ended up getting a speedcal over the gear because I could not find a gear for 4.10 ratio. I read that the number of teeth that gear would need would make it inherently weak and prone to breaking, so I think that is why Ford stopped at 3.73
