Hi All,

I'm posting here in hopes someone with the same situation can chime in.

I am doing a swap from my 3.8 to a 4.6. I've heard that I can keep the stock 3.8 RAD and FAN even though the 4.6 RAD/FAN are different.

I can see that the coolant pipes are in the same position and sizes as the GT rad, however, I am not sure if the 3.8 fan would be capable of taking care of the heat generated by the 4.6.

I heard that the 3.8 fan is basically the same as the 4.6 fan, is this true? Do they both have 2-speed?

Anyone who's done a swap can give me a definite answer?

The reason I ask is because the donor vehicle I found does not have a useable Rad and Fan.

Let me know your thoughts.

^+1 listen to the man....he deals with this stuff all the time. He works for Liberty Ford (parts) and has ALOT of knowledge...very respected member.

Since your getting a new fan and radiator, and depending on your future HP plans, you may want to just go straight for a fluidine or equivilent aftermarket radiator along with GT fans....that should cool just about any amount of HP you can make. :nice:
