I guess this is a matter of opinion but I think the 99 - 04 are some of the ugliest mustangs yet. I felt as though ford sold out when they went with that body style. I am so glad they went back to their roots and feel the front end is perfect for the 05... They couldnt have done a better job.

Nothing would come close to lining up, it would be a TOTAL from-scratch fabrication project that would cost about as half as much as the whole damn car to accomplish. You'd have about as good a chance of grafting a Peterbilt front end to your '05.

You've got to be kidding, right?

The front of an 99-04 is jelly-bean smooth. It's neither unique enough to be exciting, nor executed well enough to be considered quality styling. And it's a boring variation on the prior 93-98 years.

Do you mean just fenders and hood and nose, or the whole front clip? Because cars don't "clip" together like they did in the body-on-frame designs of the 60's and prior. They are unibody. If you glued the front end of a 2004 on the 2005 you'd end up with handling worse than both....

A front bumper costs $15,000?

Ummmmm..... where do I start??? Swapping parts from one car to a different car is not like playing with legos. It would not fit. It would not mount. Nothing would COME CLOSE to lining up. It would be like trying to bolt a 20-inch wheel to your lawnmower. You don't just unbolt the front end of an '05, and bolt on the front end of an '04. NOTHING underneath the panels on an '05 is the same as an '04, in contour, dimension, design, or mounting positions. And it's not like you just "drill some new holes" and go, because nothing would line up, and there would be interference and conflicts EVERYWHERE. Every area of styling is different, the lights, the grille, the hood, everything would have to be swapped-over. The relationship between the front wheels and the door is totally different, which would force you to RELOCATE the wheel opening on the fender of the '04, and lengthen the rear of the fender and resculpture it to meet and match the front of the door. Major major fabrication, requiring so much skill, there are only a handful of coachbuilding artisans in the U.S. who could even think about tackling such a task. Relating this task to the purchase price of a front bumper is like a group of 10 year olds thinking they can fly to the moon with $20 bucks and a good slingshot.

I realize you wouldn't just bolt it on.
Handful of coachbuilding artisans... what the hell, are you doing a commercial or something.
I think anyone good with fiberglassing/metalwork could pull it off relatively easily.

I realize bodylines would require moving things around. Perhaps a new fiberglass bumper with styling elements taken from 99-04 would be the easiest route.

In any event, $15k would be cheap to slap that bumper on there.

The car looks so good in person compared to just pictures in magazines!

Uh oh here we go. :nonono:

If you are an enthusiast you would appreciate and respect all Mustangs.

I mean this IS an enthusiasts website...not just an '05 website.

I don't know, I consider my self a real Stanger (look at my sig.) but I'm not a fan of the 71-73s though I can apreciate a well restored example. I also find it very hard to like the Mustang IIs. I would not go as far as saying they are not real Mustangs as I have heard some say, but I just don't like them,

Yeah, but would you go as far to say you are trying too forget they existed when you are in a forum full of II owners??

No I would not. All I said is that I don't like them, that doesn't mean I wish the didn't exist. I was responding to a post that said " I think if your a real Stanger than you like all Mustangs" By pointing that there are some Mustangs I dislike but I still love Mustangs.

I remember a few years back when the SN-95 came out that some guy took a 93 mustang and grafted a then new 94 nose onto it. I think it was in muscle mustangs and fast fords, it was yellow and the cover has some hot chick in a bikini sitting on the hood of this thing.
