99 cobra conv. suspension upgrade question???? (wtb cobra rear bumper)

hey guys, im new to this forum stuff so deal with me please, i just bought my first ford(99 cobra conv.) I LOVE IT. but im looking to lower it and i need to know is whats the difference between just lowering springs or shock/spring combo, and what do you guys recommend for inches to drop w/17" wheels.any suggestions????

and does anyone know where i can get a newer cobra rear bumper cover with the cobra embeded in the bumper for a decent price???? thank you and i hope to talk to you guys soon

There are many others, but I use these alot. Go get your self a "5.0 Mustang and Superfords" magazine, plenty of adds with lots and lots of aftermarket.

About the springs and shock:
If you just put springs on you could overwork your shocks to hard and they could fail.
You can find some good suspension kits on these sites and others.

Ive got a '99 cobra with 17's and the Eibach spring kit, Lowered it perfectly with no rubbing issues and handles/ rides like a dream.
