so, my engine has seen better days, and I'm tired of being slow despite all the mods I've done. and my engine has seen better days. It's leaking oil every where. including in the cubustion chamber from leaking valves. And I'ts got over 170000 miles.
So, my buddy just recently crashed his stock 03 and is will to give me the motor for a resonable price and I going to put that in mine. Could yall' just give me a heads up on the problems gong into this project. THe only thing I wanna keep is the 96 style ingnition. Iwas veery expensive. bythe way his car only had 33000miles on it.

Simple drop in. You can use the same ECU and ignition system.

Ok I have a question I have located a set of PI heads now. I know my valves are leaking so this would rectify the situation. But, what about the short block? Its got around 125000 on it right know how much longer can I expect it to keep on going?
How many miles are yall getting out of yall's 96-98 motors. And also I already have the PI intake so the only improvement would be the added airflow from the better cams and heads. Right?? the new short block shouldnt be any stronger. RIght? My compression is still good even with the oil leaking valves. And I just found out It will be over a thousand bucks for a used PI motor. And I'm bout to start a new job so price is an issue.

What do yall' think????/

Thanks, Cint

i got a little over 100,000miles out of mine but it blew bc it liquid locked. youll get raised compresion from the pi heads. while you have the motor out i would rebuild it or look around for a short or long block rebuilt. i got my long block for a lil under $400, look on craigslist
