i have a line on a 6 psi vortec kit. it is from a 99 gt. i looked through the instructions briefly and the only difference seemd to be that the 96-96 came with an fmu and t rex pump. the 99 kit has a chip and injectors. is there any other difference? we took the mounting bracket and checked it agianst my engine and it looked like everything mounts up. is this kit a direct bolt on to my car? or will it not fit at all?

you will need to get the chip reprogrammed.

you can download the instructions from Vortecs website. after reading the instructions, you should be able to tell if everything will work. i think it will with a few minor exceptions.

The hardware will mount up no problem. I think the instruction manual is the same for the 96-02 cars (bought mine in 02.. sure it says 04 now) There were a few differences in pulleys, bolt lengths, ect.. between the different motors used, but it shouldnt take much to get it mounted up. I dont remember if you guys are still return style or returnless with the fuel situation, so you'll want to look into that too.

well the kit was taken off a 99 stang, so is the front cover an issue still?

Shouldn't be an issue other than maybe a few minor hardware differences but the bracket will bolt up. 6 psi is fine on a stock motor, btw. Good luck.

ok well i just compared the parts list for both the 99 kit and the 96-97 kit. the 99 kit came with injectors, pump assembly, and a chip. the 97 kit has the fmu and t rex pump. one or two nuts/bolts are different. the mounting bracket assembly has a different number, but all components are the same. i sent vortec an e mail so i will see what they say.
