Hey All,

I have a 1989 LX Hatch, 5.0, 5-Speed. Previous owner yanked the A/C system from under the hood... I live in Georgia and it's over 90 degrees here today, so I'm putting A/C back in. Not really optional.

I purchased a used (but guaranteed) A/C kit with R134 fittings already. It came with the brackets, condenser, compressor, hoses, dryer, etc (everything under hood except the belt), but it has NO hardware. Not a single bolt or o-ring.

Does anyone have a link to the hardware (bolts, nuts, o-rings) required for a factory A/C system?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't find anything on it.

Thanks!

Auto parts stores have the O-ring assortment kits in the back. Make sure they are the green ones. There aren't too many bolts on the AC system. Piece together what you can from ACE hardware. If the evaporator core has been left open, it is definitely suspect. Run some cleaner through it. The AC cleaner is expensive, like $20 or so a bottle, but it's necessary. Make sure all the connections are as reasonably clean as you can get them, and lube them up with the appropriate oil before you snap them together. An unlubed O-ring is like an unlubed condom, it will pinch and tug when you push it in.

I also live in Georgia, and I feel your pain. If I had a 3000hp alcohol dragster, it would have AC on it.
