Okay here's my problem. I picked up a 93 5.0 a couple of weeks ago that the previous owner had pulled all the A/C hardlines and compressor off of. He had it all in the trunk and I decided to put it back on and convert to R134a. He thought the compressor was bad(whole reason he pulled it off) but when I spun it by hand it pulled a suction and pumped air. I put it on the car and started her up. The compressor was pretty noisy but would compress with the hardlines removed. I hooked the lines up and went to start her up. She smoked the belt on the A/C. I don't know if that means there's something wrong with the compressor or if there is something wrong with the expansion valve/orifice(not sure which the stang has). I didn't have power hooked up to the compressor at anytime so it shouldn't have had to spin at all. If anyone has an idea let me know.
