It seems I've read most of this info before, but I can't seem to find anything now. There's plenty on converting to R134, but not adding on an entire system. I have an '89 GT vert that had A/C deleted when I purchased. I'm looking to put everything back together. I've installed a Vintage Air kit in an F150, but that's about the extent of my experience. I have a Haynes manual and a shop manual, but wanted to get some advice before I get started. I already replaced the evaporator and some vacuum lines in the dash while I had the box out. Here's a list of parts I've compiled so far: compressor with clutch, condenser, dryer/accumulator with hose, orifice tube, compressor bracket kit, orifice tube hose assembly, compressor to condenser hose, condenser bracket kit, compressor wiring harness, and longer serpentine belt. Is there anything I'm missing? Is there a bracket or clamp to attach the accumulator to the firewall? I still need to get the vacuum tank and check valve, but I think I have the vacuum system under control.
So far, my parts total $575, which is less than the kits I've found and more comprehensive. The compressor I'm buying is a Four Seasons SD709, pn 58581. I do not need manifolds with that, right? To simplify, I just need to connect all these parts together, then take to shop to have them charge it. Is that correct? Anyone have any tips, links to resources, etc.? I appreciate the help.
