A/C Trying to Go Out

Gentlemen, have a 2002 gt with the air conditioning starting to go out. Right now it is intermittant, just stops blowing cold air then starts up again. It appears the compressor is not cycling on at times. The idle goes up, but that's it. Then later it works just fine.

Gotta be some switch, fuse or relay going out. Takes about 1 minute to sweat up here in Houston this time of year, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

I'm interested in this answer. I got in my Cobra a few weeks ago and turned the A/C on, but all it did was blow hot. About 5-6 miles down the road all of a sudden it started blowing cold. Only done it that one time so far though.

Start first by confirming the the cooling fans work. Check BOTH speed fans for the GT/Cobra. Pay special attention to the LOW speed fan.

Remember that the PCM has control of the AC. There are many conditions (over heating) and DTC's that the PCM will disable the AC by design. So if there are any DTC codes, look at those as well.
