It's nothing huge, but it was fun.

I was replacing my old Sumitomo's yesterday and did this on the way to the tire shop.

2nd gear, 6,000 RPM and I just kissed the limiter once.

In the pics, you can see it was axle hopping...

Haha, yeah. I really abused the old set, but I'm going to try to take it easy on the new ones.

I have a couple of stock tires mounted on the GT wheels and a set of BFG DR's if I want to make copious amounts of smoke.

Looks like you had your tires underinflated.

It does, but they weren't in reality.

When I first had the old set of tires put on, I ran them overinflated (unknowingly) and it wore the centers down quicker than the outer tread, and it's been like that since.

The right tire should have been at 32 psi, the left probably 26-28 psi or so, because it had a rather large nail in it that slowly leaked air out and I hadn't aired up in a few days.

How many miles did you get out of the Sumitomo's?

I had mine rebuilt when I had my gears put in (around 113k or so), it was definatley worth it. The origional T-lok was actually still working, but it was good peice of mind.

About 25k on that set, but it would have been more had I not very over-inflated the tires and ran them that way for the first 10k miles or so... oops. I learned my lesson on that. They were REALLY abused also... they will get great tread-life if you run the right PSI and don't spend most of the time squaking second gear just because you can, lol.

I saw 15k out of sumi's.... That was a with a lot of of racing involved and some big smokey burn outs. Also, they were 275's mounted on stock 8 inch rims... They wore bad in the middle as well.

For the money they are a great tire. I pulled 1.9 60 ft with them all day long and the car was dead consistent. WAY better than the stock good years EVER thought about being.

Yeah, these hook so much better than the old set since they are brand new.

I pulled a 2.1, almost a 2.0 with them at the track. With the size they are, they don't really bite to well because the sidewall is so stiff... but oh well, they do good on the street.
