I'm thinking about buying a set of iron gt40's with some port work and have been milled .030". How much would a set of these heads be worth if they need a valve job and valve guides? What kind of number should I expect with my parts below? About how much am I going to have to spend to get the valve job and all? and last question what ratio rockers should I go with?

When I was contemplating going that route, I saw "ready to bolt on" GT40s going for 300-350 shipped on eBay.

I wouldn't pay more than 100-150 for some needing work. You are going to pay a couple hundred for the work. Depending on how much needs to be done, the springs etc it will be more. You may also need different pushrods/shims if the heads are milled.

After I started adding up all the money I'd have to dump into "stock" heads to make them acceptable for me, I decided to look at some aluminum heads instead.

You'll have to run the numbers on the rocker ratios to see if there is going to be any interference with your pistons and the rocker ratio you want to run if you go with something more than 1.6.

You can get some 12 sec / high 11s from those heads when they are ported!! You WILL gain 35-50 BOLT on HP over the stock heads, and MORE when ported!! IF you have to add guides and seats... those heads have been beat to death and even thought they are fixable... they might end up too much in dollars!!

Prices?? depending on the cost of the heads.. with port work/performance valve job.. 1000.00 to 850.00 !! Look on the Other guys face when open the hood and show stock heads after smoking his high dollar engine?? PRICELESS!!!!
