Hey guys, I currently have a 94 vert with a 5.0 in it.
I also have a powerdyne 6# blower.
The only other thing done to the engine is an O/R h pipe and a set of mufflers

the car runs pretty good, but deffinatly needs improvement as it looses all power in the top end.

To remedy this i am going to be installing the following:
94/95 cobra intake
24# injectors
76(i think)mm maf calibrated for 24# injectors
new sparkplugs
wires
aluminum drive shaft

The maf, injectors, drive shaft and wires are all freebies from my best friend who sold his engine. His car is a foxbody.
-I know the injectors will work, but will the maf?
-What plugs would you suggest?
-Besides the gasket for the manifold and the one from the upper to lower, what else do i need to install this intake. Everything swaps right over correct?
-will my boost pressure drop becuase of the larger volume of the cobra intake vs the stock one?

If you guys could help me out with this, I would really appreciate it alot. Thanks!

Your new Maf will work just fine.

Autolite plugs are about the best for 5.0's. I would go one heat range colder than stock.
-Besides the gasket for the manifold and the one from the upper to lower, what else do i need to install this intake. Everything swaps right over correct? You will need the head-to-lower manifold gaskets (one per head), as well as the throttle body to intake gasket (that may be what you meant above). Otherwise, everything transfers over.

If you changed your cam, I would say definitely. With just the intake, I would think you would stay the same.

P.S. If you have not had any tuning done yet, I would at least have the car put on a dyno with a wide-band oxygen sensor. Small changes, especially with maf, injectors, and cam, throw off the ECU. Your power problem could easily be ECU, fuel management unit calibration (if your blower kit uses one), or simply inadequate fuel from your fuel pump. I would replace the fuel pump with a 255lph unit. If you do not have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, I would get one too. These components will ensure adequate fuel and the ability to adjust it. Also, your valve springs may float above 5,000 rpm's somewhere, and your heads/cam will be maxed out prior to 6,000 rpm's. Down the road, when you replace these components, you will see a nice higher-rpm power increase. Good luck!

i have a 255 lph pump actually. It does need a dyno tune, but im going to get one after the parts are installed. Im only paying for the intake, the fuel injectors and maf are free from my friend. Are there any wierd things i should watch out for on the intake install or is it pretty much a direct replacement.

You are gonna have to get a different whatchamacallit to go in your fmu that will work with your 24's as the one you now got is for the stocker 19's.

Hope someone can remember the correct name for what I'm talkin about, lol.

Are you telling me that you have been running 6lbs of boost with 19lb inj's at stock fuel pressure?

About that 255lph pump ...................
is it now on the car or waiting to be put on?

the fuel pump is in the car now. As far as i know there is no FMU at all. Im not sure as it came with the supercharger on it. Well actually when i bought it the supercharger was off, but everything was still on the car except the tubing and the blower unit. The unit had to be rebuilt which i had done. All i had to do was reinstall the unit, belt, tensioner, and the tubing.

The 6# kit doesnt come with the bypass vlave (which i added) the fuel pump (which i added), FMU or chip. I am going to be getting my car dyno tuned and a chip burned once i get all these parts installed, so i figure the chip will take care of all that.

It seems to me that without a FMU, the 24's are gonna be too small.

I'm not sure, but I think it is quite possible that the blower is gonna be close to pegging a 24lb caled maf.

I might be good to talk to some peeps that have experience with blown combos.
