OMGWTFBBQ !! This is GREAT news!! Man I hope this is actually a fix, and not some stupid band-aid deal.

you might have a problem. that might be up to the dealer. They dont have to tell ford you have a shifter.

Are we talking about the cold shift problems?

Also mind if you give us some details as oppose to just teasing us.

Well, I'm lucky enough that the problem isn't a major concern to me. It does rattle (like a mini-grind) a bit into second when it's very cold.

But if Ford's coming up with a fix.........oh my God I hate that problem, geez Ford, fix it for me.

I'd like to know what they are doing to fix it. I have my steeda tri-ax install on hold. I am scared to install it so that they can say the shifter caused this issue that has been there since I got the car.

This is great news.If this really starts to happen big, we should start a thread with the locations of the dealerships who will and will not do the fix with a Shifter,

I have more details for the fix. all of these part numbers start with 3r3z there are a total of 4 parts. The numbers may be flip-flopped with the part but I was assured that the numbers are right here they are:

1st and 2nd syncro = 3r3z 7124BA

2nd gear = 3r3z 7102AA

Blocker = 3r3z 7107AA

Shift Fork = 3r3z 7230AB

My service manager said it is a fix for the 1/2 gear grind. He also said ford will be releasing a service bulletin very soon. Good luck everyone. Cross your fingers.

I still havent noticed anywhere in here where it states what is actually "fixed" to "fix" this problem?
Is this a secretive kit that only Ford Techs know about, or is this something we could do or have a speed shop do on our own?
