A little help with cooling/heating system, please

For the last few months, I have had no heat in my car. Since it was summer, I didn't worry much, but now's the time to fix it. My car has 200K miles on it, and the heater core was replaced about 60K miles ago. There is no leaking into the passenger compartment, no smell, no fogging of the windows, etc. so I believe that it is still fine. I have tested the water flow in the core, and it is fine as well. What I can say is that when the car is running, the water lines going to the core don't seem to get hot. Almost as if no water is flowing through them. I have replaced the thermostat today, and still the same issue. The water pump was replaced about 50K miles ago.

Any ideas, or things to test?

The first thing i'd check would be the coolant level. Pop the radiator cap off and let it run to full operating temperature, so the thermostat opens up, and then check the level. I've seen it happen quite a few times, that there's air pockets in the cooling system that make it appear as if it's full, but giving the upper radiator hose a few squeezes while it's running made the some nice bubbles come out of the radiator, and the level drop substantially. I have checked the coolant level multiple times, and even tried the tip of loosening the coolant temperature sensor threads, so that any air could bleed out there. I will try burping the hose again today, but I don't hold out much hope that it will cure the problem.
