A Little MAF and TB Help Here.

From a much more senior Stang enthusiast, who is more familiar with three deuces, dual point distributors, and cheater slicks (really old guy, huh?)

Background: My wife (not quite as old as me, but still Very cool) came home upset because a Firebird blew off her doors. After a discussion on how this happened, she agreed we need to go another step. I usually devote $800-1,500 per year in "improvements".

Here's what I have - 94 Vert GT 100K with headers, off-road H pipe, Borla, Cobra heads, RR's, Centerforce, but stock below the heads and stock EFI. Air out is much better, but air-in needs help. There will be a new block in the future (331?) with cam, etc. Mountain driven at ~7,000'

Question - Finally: What would be my best choice this year for a new MAF with CAI and a new TB? What size for each will give me better flow, but still give decent idle characteristcs.

Thanks guys. It's her car, but she let's me drive it too! (I told you she was cool). My first new Stang was a '72 Mach 1 - 351. I am really looking at the hot 06 as a possibility for my very own wheels...again. Maybe then she can take the GM iron on!

i would go with a 70mm TB with a 70mm MAF. It'll give you some room to grow when you get the bottom end done.

Get a new Intake while your at it. a GT-40 or a Edelbrock RPM will do wonders considering you already have heads, but your bottle necking it in the intake manifold. MAF and TB will only do so much, get an intake.

I assume you have gears and underdrives but didn't mention them? If not it's past time for a set and the pulleys. 3.73s would be a nice addition.

I saw Centerforce so I guess that means stick trans. If that is so i would go for some 373's for rear gears. What do you now have for rear gears?

To keep up with the f bodies a tb & maf will not help you as much as the gear change.

You can make a home made cai for just a few dollars. When I had ported heads and a few mods that simple cai made a difference I could feel.

I don't see an intake and if that is so then IMHO you will gain more from an intake than the tb & maf.
