i got my custom upper plenum made for my car. it will bolt up to a typhoon lower. its simple and should work pretty good. got to get the car running and see if it runs good with it.

instead of typing out what i did i just shot a vid of some progress, with it in pieces so you can sort of get an idea of what it took to make it. i put aorudn 12 hours into it.

heres the vidClick here to watch manifold

i got bored so i also take you guys on a tour of the garage i work on the car it, its dirty so dont laugh. its a long vid so get comfy and sorry for the brain fart at like 7:30

at the first i say "3/4 inch rail" the rail on the bottom flange is a little less than 3/8 ( was flycut flat) but the material is 3/4 wide, to clear up any confusion it sounded funny to me.

let me know what you think.

seeing how i will have a different cam and bigger valves. i was thinking of putting the regular typhoon upper on to start out, so i can feel what just the cam and the head work did for me. establish a new baseline and then add this manifold. and note the changes, if i just throw it on i wont know whats the intake or the heads or cam......

thats probably what i will do.

Looks pretty nice. Since you have the welding skills to make that happen, you might wanna find someone who actually has a custom sheetmetal intake, like a Hogan intake, and get a look at how they make theirs. You might be able to make yourself a inexpensive version of a really expensive intake.

I saw you are in Oklahoma. I am surprised. You do not have the typical accent of that area. You sound more like your from the midwest.

Your skills are top notch and the intake looks as good as those valve covers you made. If I may offer a suggestion or 2 on the intake though. On the inside of the box especially on the opposite side of the inlet it would probrably help the flow if you were able to eliminate the 90 deg corners some or make a sort of rectangular shaped velocity stack for each set of runners to smooth out the air flow. Both those points may not matter much if your running boost since it will all be pressurized any way. Ive always wanted to learn how to weld and after seeing these posts I may have to take a vo-tech class. Great work man.

yeah if it was a N/A deal i would have done something like to and made it more radiused to smoother the flow. but since its a blown car i dont think it will make much of a difference. i tried to keep it as simple as i could.
