A question about our 2 cats

the engine is fine without cats, unless your local tree huggers tell you differntly.

In my mind if you got a ton of miles on a stock cat, it's time for it to go Now my muffler shop said it was legal for me to leave the pre cat off which is almost attached to your exhaust manifold. I would check with your shop/laws if you can or can't run without it. This probaly gave me .5HP more and lost about .5lbs of dead weight. If you go to replace the cat, you can usualy buy new Catco Cats on ebay cheaper than a muffler shop will charge you. The same goes for your muffler(s) or try Jegs web site also.

I have only the pre-cat, and I have to tell you, it's almost like having no cat at all!
