? about S/S Brake Line Install

Ok, so I just received my Maximum Motorsport S/S brake lines and had a few questions before I install them. 1.) Do have have to worry about any air getting into the system when I remove the stock rubber hoses? 2.) Since the last place that removed my tires phuqt up my nice red painted calipers, I get to repaint them. Can I remove the rubber brake line and complete remove the caliper so that I can paint it correctly this time without worrying about air, etc? Will brake fluid leak everywhere if I do this? and if so, what should I use to stop the fluid from leaking. Thanks EVERYONE!

You can get a package of mixed size rubber line caps at any auto parts store. I think you can cap the brake line as soon as you remove the stock rubber brake line, with minimal brake fluid leaking out or air getting in. Of course you will need to bleed your brakes after all is done.

you need to do what you can to minimize fluid loss so work quickly when pulling lines and get all the damage you're going to do there done right off the bat. pull the rubber flex lines from the chassis mounted hard line first and use one of the rubber caps GettinThere mentioned as soon as possible after breaking the seal at each corner.

Make sure the master cylinder never goes dry and you'll have a relatively simple (still fully a 2 man job) time of it. I don't know about everyone else but I bleed all 4 wheels regardless of which one(s) I've tinkered on. Keeps my fluid fresh

Can you be more specific about the rubber line caps? The checker and autozone have idiots that are near me. I'm sure they would be like HUH, WHAT??? Do you have any pics of these? So I guess I would cap the brake line where the old stock rubber one meets the hard brake line?

one other note...

If you have ABS, make certain you plug the hose as soon as you disconnect at the caliper. If you let air work its way into the ABS pump, you have to go to the dealer to get it bled. You can't bleed it yourself, you need to run the pump and that requires a special tool the dealer has...

You'll likely find these in the "Help!" section where they have all sorts of different repair kits. As you can see, there are several different sizes on the handy-dandy plastic holder gimmick. Best of luck!

Yup. And I think the caps are primarily intended for vacuum lines.
