any advice before i start assembly?

Hi,
Pay careful attention to the basic engine assembly tolerances, ring gaps (dependent on type of ring material), crank thrust, cam thrust, and bearing clearances. Mock up the rotating parts and check the rotation of the big ends for contacting the block edges. You want to stay away from thee edges approx. .075, to be safe. Check push rod geometry before you install the intake and adjust for the length as needed.
These are the big things off the top of my head.
Good Luck!
