The ABS light came on my '97 a few weeks ago when I slid on some ice. It then would go on and off for about a week and eventually shut off. Now last week, the light came on again and hasn't shut off since. Besides low fluid in the master cylinder, what are some other common problems that would trigger the light? Thanks.

Maybe some ice cut the wire to a sensor? I've seen that happen. Also, maybe there's snow/junk built up around one of the sensors. I'd look behind each wheel and check to make sure the wire is connected to the sensor, the condition of the sensor and the toothed ring on the axles/ spindles to make sure it's not damaged or broken off. Check the fuse too. I believe it's located in the fuse box under the hood.

First Thing To Do Is Check Your Fuses. There Are One Or Two Fuses Dedicated To The Abs And Traction Control Systems (i Believe They're The Black And Squarish Style).

Also Check All Your Connections And Grounds.

Hopefully You Don't Need To Replace Your Abs Control Module As It Can Be Pricey.

Good Luck.
