We'll two weeks ago I had just started my car in the morning and let it
idle for a few minutes and all of the sudden my ABS light came on.I took
my car to the Ford Dealership and had the service dept. do diagnostics
on my car and they found that my ABS module had internal failure. They
said that the only way to fix it would be to purchase and install a new
ABS module. The only problem is that Ford discontinued the ABS module
for a 1996 Ford Mustang GT or so,they say.Anyone know where I can get
one at a decent price? What to do? Thanks.

a junkyard, did they give you the code.. I would liek to see how they came to find the module to be the fault.

Mine is shot too. My ABS light has been on since i bought the car so I brought it to the schools Auto room and they ran a Ford diagnostic check and some other checks on it and they came to the conclusion that it was a fried HCM (hydraulic controle module) which controls the ABS. I've survived 1.5 Minnesota winters without ABS (which actually helps you stop sooner, just no control of the car while braking) until i got a winter car and no longer had to worry about the stang in the winter. If you really want a replacment for it i'd reccommend a junkyard car otherwise when I posted my HCM findings awhile back some people linked me to a new module ($1900 ).

The dealership just told me that the whole entire
ABS module failed and that I would need to obtain one on my own if I wanted
to have ABS on my car.I am either going to delete the ABS module and get
the ABS erased or somehow fine a new or used ABS module at a junkyard or
some parts store.I don't have any problems braking just can't brake as fast
as I would like to.Mike they didn't give me any codes but, if you or anyone
know where to get a ABS module post a link. Thanks.

Mine went too. I got the whole hydraulic unit with the control module used for $12 on eBay. I just took the control module off and put it on the existing hydraulic unit and it's worked perfectly since then. I hope you find one easier than I did!
