so im basterdizing a fox in the upcoming future..... hate it or not i just want to. and i was thinking. is there a way of making an ls1 swap in a fox stang, have working abs or does that seem like too much hassle, its just a thought, ive never had abs so i could'nt care less if i dont have it, just wondering if i could make it work. if not or no one knows no big deal. ive looked on google and it doesnt seem like anyones tried this so yea.

it could probably be done using SN-95 stuff. Personally i dont think it would be worth all of the extra work

As for ABS yeah you'd have to use sn95 stuff.

What does the engine have to do with abs?

If you want abs....a 1994-1995 is what you want to use. Of course, you will need sn95 brakes with the abs rings on all 4 wheels to start. But the 94/95 is stand-alone and can be easily integrated into the fox.

Is it worth it? I dunno...but it's a mod I'd like to do one day

I was driving when foxes could still be had new, so i got used to driving without abs, but i'd be afraid to see what some of these younger guys would do in a panic situation without abs.

im 21, and ive been driving since i was 14 really, im not gonna say im schumacher, but i do consider my self to be fairly confident and skilled. im just curious if it could be done and what it would take, i was'nt sure if it mattered what computer harness you had or what else..... never been entirley sure what makes abs work i know how it works tho.

Im just throwing ideas around with brakes, trying to make a road course car with a decent strip capability. NOT AUTO CROSS

And i know shame on me for puttin a chevy motor in a fox but i prefer the sound of an ls im sure the ford gods will send me to hell right lol. power's power no matter what way you cut it. plus im also do it to spite a family member because its as they say "a stupid idea" so im gonna make this stupid idea a reality and then whomp on thier **** to shut em up.

if your planning on any road course stuff the LS is a good choice, it sits lower than an 8.2 deck ford and i'd reccomend the aluminum block and take a good chunk of weight off the nose

Mustangs are well regarded for their sound, even amongst the chebby guys. I say buy one if you want sound. A whole heck of a lot less work for an ass sounding car then swapping everything..

4.6 k member, slot the holes on the motor mounts for a 4.6 and a ls motor will bolt in like stock. I think b&g makes a turbo kit for the swap as well. LOL

LS motors sound like ka-ka compared to a 5.0 HO. A lot of work to take a step backwards if sound is the driving force.

Stang&2birds is the site owner and is very knowledgeable about ABS on fox body cars. Don't tell him you want to put a Chevy engine in a Mustang. Once he hears that, he will probably not say anything complementary about you.

lol sound is not the only driving foce behind this idea / project i also would like the lightness of the aluminum ls1 block, and the fact that while it might still be stupid to some it is also different to some. Im 21 like i said..... i cant afford a gto or a corvette, but a mustang is cheap... especially when the insurance company isnt going to know what i am going to do to it. so yea theres a whole bunch of reasons behind it.....jrichker thanks for the link btw

cant afford the insurace on em its not the cost of the car its the cost of the insurace.... id gladly take out alone for a gto or hell even for a new '11 mustang gt but the insurace is hell for me... rates are going down at the end of the year but still.... im not gonna buy a camaro or gto or firebird when they weight so much more then the fox, this isnt going to be a daily driver car lol just be happy im not putting a dodge motor in it. at anyrate thanks for the help those who did have constructive things to say.

If you read about LS stuff at all i do not see how you would call someone an idiot...

Hot Rod had just did an article with a bone stock 5.3l truck motor(they did swap valvesprings) that made 550hp and 590 with a cam swap on 12 pounds of boost. the bigger 6.0 can make 550 hp on motor without much work also, How is 550 hp for under 3500 bucks not impressive?
