What is the BEST tire to get for street driving. One that has superior traction in dry and wet conditions, summer compound and last 25k miles or better. BFG, Pirelli, Avon, Michelan or Goodyear and any other brand out there- whats the best one. And no track or drag radials, looking for traction and long life.

Thanks Guys

Goodyear GSD3's for any sub-400rwhp car. They're great in the rain, last a long time, and have cool looking treads as well.

+1, ive been wanting to try those...

I run BFG KDW2's...They grip like crazy dry & wet, Ive gotten 18-19k out of mine so far (rears need to be replaced from agressive driving & burnouts) & mine are staggered too, so no rotation...Tread also looks cool on these...And the price is pretty decent too....

I talked dad out of buying the Lincon Blackwood and into getting a 03/04 Cobra So we are Cobra shopping for him and he said whatever one he gets he wants the best tire he can get on it that will last 25k miles or better. BTW most of the Terminators we have seen are atleast 460+rwhp and he dont want drag radials, just great street tires.

I have heard good things about the Potenza RE050A Pole Position, they are ranked better then the GSD3's on tirerack and cheaper.

I miss my S03's...

Kuhmos are cheap, wear great, and hold pretty well, I dunno about higher HP applications though.

i had some nitto 555's and i loved them. lasted forever, ran consistent 2.0 60's and even some 1.9 60's on them, and they are cheap. i changed over to the 555r's this time around and next time will be going back to the 555's. for the money i dont think u can beat them.

and the kuhmo's suck in my opinion. my dad has them on his 03 mach and it will shred them through 3 gears, and its stock. i would stay away from them

I've had them on for one summer, very nice tire although I can't speak for their rain performance. vert=sunshine for me.

Always had good luck with Bridgestone. Looking at Tire Rack they gave a real high rating to the Firestone Wide Oval, never liked Firestone before The Michelins look good and he seems fine with dropping $280 a tire. I like the BFGoodrich TA KD 2 for the same price. He has a thing for Yokohama and likes the S Drives from them, anybody give the Yoks a try?

I have had a lot of experience with variouse tires and it really comes down to personal prefference.

i my opinion nitto is one of the best out there. there is just something about nittos that work for me and manke my car feel like i can do ANYTHING.
currently iam running bfg g-force sports and they are a great tire for the money I've got 15000 miles on mine and they still have great grip and you cant go wrong with any tire from bfg period.
I have also run hankooks wich are a OK tire but they fade fast, in about 5000 miles
To me dunlops feel floaty and disconnected from they road doubt i will ever run anything from them. they were on a friends car.
bridgestones are too pricey for what you end up with I think that nittos are better by far.
kuhmos are just plain crap from what i've seen. a guy at my work has a set and hates them and just about every time i read a tire test kuhmo comes out near the bottom.
I had a set of toyo proxes 4 for a short time before my car got solen and they were pretty good but i would go with the T-1r.

The bfg gforce sports are impressive for the $, they are very stout feeling
look good and wear evenly. I have 25k on mine and expect to get at least
5 or 10 k more as the tread is still meaty. I ran 2 sets of Kumho 712's before
and only got 20 to 25 k out of them.

I really liked my GSD3's, they are really good tires. Now I am kind of wishing I would have got DR though instead, as I can break them loose pretty easy when I hit boost.

If money is no object go with the pricey GSD3's. They are cooler in person than in pics too. All the 03-04 Cobra guys have those at car shows, the track, The Dream Cruise etc....

If you want to save dough buy some BFG KDW or KDWS. I have pulled 1.9-2.0 with those at the track, so they will be good on the street

Remember...it will take a long time to reach 25K on a Cobra. In my case, I bought my car in 2001 with 30K....it is now almost 2008, and I have 54K on it.

i gotta say the bfg gforce kdw2's they rock me... they so far lasted a good 10,000 miles they are lined with kevlar so they are tough, i have a nail in 1, but it didn't penetrate the inner tire just the outer rubber, they are just great, even with 260ish hp and 3.73's they hook rock solid i don't spin at all, unless i just absolutely hammer first.
