AC Delete??

On the ac eliminator that has the pulley once I unbolt the factory ac what do I do with the two tubes that go to it? One that routes to the black cylinder near the passenger firewall and the other that is piped into the radiator?

get rid of em! you'll need a disconnect tool to pop the lines apart. and get rid of the condensor by the rad while you're at it. (that line you're talking about actually doesn't go to the rad, but rather to something like a smaller rad that can be removed)

so basically once I get the lines out near the firewall and near the radiator, the black canister and the other piece youre talking about is no longer needed?

How about evacuating the system?

I used a sawzall when we did the A/C delete on Frankenstang's Capri. No sense in fighting those stupid "quick disconnect" fittings forever if you're never going to re-use the junk, anyways. Most folks ditch their A/C stuff because it's not functioning, anyhow.

And besides ... what's more satisfying: wiggling and fiddling around with a damned fitting, trying to make it let go ... or buzzing that damned pipe off the condenser in a few seconds, ripping it out, and throwing it across the garage with a caveman-like roar?

As far as evacuating the system ... that depends on just how dead the system is. Poke an A/C pressure gauge on there to get an idea if there's any pressure still left in there. If so, you might wanna get it slurped out at a shop or otherwise have an A/C technician pump it out so it'll be properly disposed; if not, as was the case with Frankenstang's Capri (the A/C had been dead for like 10 years), it was so friggin' flat that it didn't even hiss the slightest bit when I unscrewed the hoses from the compressor.
