ac wire for dc fan control?

looking at the info on the tmoss wire diagrahm located here: http://http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/images/91-93_5.0_EEC_Wiring_Diagram.gif

would i hook the dc controler a/c wire up to the blk/yel wire?

i have a dc control FK-50P and was trying to figure out where to hook up the auxiliary ac input...all the instructions say is "If the vehicle has air conditioning and originally came with a mechanical fan, connect the blue AC input wire of the harness to the air conditioning compressor input."

can someone tell me where to hook this wire up and what color it is? i am guessing just splice in at the wire harness feeding to the ac compressor, but what wire color?

I'm pretty sure it's the yellow black wire. I could verify that tomorrow if no one else can verify it by then (it's past my bed time ).


edit: I spliced mine about 4 inches from the compressor.

Thanks. I think it must be the blk/yel wire, I saw it listed in some more of the tmoss schematics....

To decrease the chance of cyclic action, I would tap into the AC feed into the LPCS (green/purple on earlier aero foxes IIRC). This wire is hot anytime the AC is on, not just when the clutch is engaged.

I am not famaliar enough with fox body electronics to exactly know what you are talking about? Can you please explain the to me what the LPCS & IIRC is?

LPCS: Low Pressure Cycle switch. It's the 3 wire switch on top of the accumulator (the cylinder looking part of the AC system on the passenger firewall). The wire you want will show constant 12 V at the LPCS whenever the AC is on (the other wires will lose 12V as the AC Clutch disengages at idle.

Great information, I will go lpcs route when I do the install. BTW, any good tips or tricks for quick and clean ways to probe the wires through the connector. Seems like a sewing needle through the weatherpacking might be best?

If you disconnect the connector, turn the key on (might have to start it - I'm not sure) and turn the AC on, one wire should have 12V. The rest will not. That's the wire you want.

Or if you have a green/purple wire, chances are that's the one you want so stick it with a safety pin where you'd splice into it anyways. Chances are it's the correct wire and you'll be removing more insulation anyhow. I dont like to shove anything into gooey weathertight connectors.
