Curse you helty! It seems you can't just reuse the stock IAC bolts for the accufab plenum. Do brand new accufab plenums come with new bolts for the IAC? We can't get the bolt all the way in! It's almost like the hole isn't tapped enough!!:bang: :bang: :bang:

I did the same thing. Someone recommended that I use a longer than usual bolt, and that worked like a charm. I recommend the same to you.

Brandon, I got my clutch today, thanks!

No, not stripped. It just STOPS. So we tried to go back to the stock plenum and the bolt on the IAC just STOPPED as well. So now we have to dremel off the head and get a new bolt tomorrow. THis whole project is just becoming one big mess of sh1t...

Ambo, Im sorry you're having problems. I swear to you I used all stock hardware, and everything went together like it was OEM. Hell the IAC was the least of any problems I encountered, it was the rear EGR bolt that was a bitch. Didnt want to go through the new gasket.

Is there any chance theres a difference in bolts from a 2000 model to an 02?

Keep the faith man, projects of this nature tend to take a lot out of you bc you're looking forward to the end result and little things keep putting it off. I know this bc Ive dropped 2 K-members in as many weekends. Keep the faith. The Boost is worth the wait ;)

Good luck with it.

Damn those k-members.. I wish I couldn't say that we had dropped 2 k-members in 2 weeks :nonono:

Damn headers :bang:

Pulling the plenum is very easy. The only problem someone might run into is the EGR bolts, but that can be taken care of with the help of a small peice of pipe around the wrench for extra leverage. I had mine off in a matter of mins.

I guess thats kinda OT to the origional question, but kinda aimed towards a few others...:nice:

After much stress we finally got everything on the accufab. Just needed some washers to get the thing done. The next big PITA was the TPS screws. Those things were HORRIBLE! :bang:

The EGR bolts gave me no issues. Right off and right back on.

THanks fellas for all the advice! We finally got out and got the correct tap and a bigger punch for the pan today. After the pan is tapped, this puppy should be all simple bolts from here on out! :nice:

And yes, this is my personal first big project. My buddy I'm doing it with has done many engine swaps and turbo installs, but this is his first time working on a stang so he's learning the ropes. :flag:

I'll keep everyone posted!

I bought a new TPS sensor for like $20 when I replaced mine so I didn't have to mess witht he screws. It came with new ones. The EGR was almost my next problem. I got it off fine but screwing the back bolt in it started going crooked when I got half-way in. Needless to say I kept trying and trying and it kept moving sideways so I just left it. No leaks so I'll leave it like that :)

I just got a new TPS sensor when I put mine in too. Cost $25 and saved me a headache. This was my first real install (besides the shifter), did it last weekend and was surprised that I had no problems with it.

Glad you got it worked out man. Hope you didnt think I tried selling you a F'd up part. The Helty would never do something so low.

Now hurry the hell up and get that thing running lol :nice:
