a firend of mine just bought a 92 lx 2.3 and one of his friend has a turbo laying around that was off of his 2.3 that hes gonna give him. whats the steps in putting the turbo on?

The general community agrees that putting a turbo on a stock n/a engine is a bad idea.
People do it and I guess they have some success but you will have to keep the boost low.
Do a search, there are always threads like this coming up and some of them should have information.
The main thing is that the turbo 2.3l engines have stronger pistons (forged)
N/A 2.3l engines have weaker pistons and can't take the boost.

so what would you say is safe to run? hes not looking for a track monster, its gonna be a daily driver, he just wants a lil more umph.

Also need to tap an oil line for the turbo. Most run 6-7 lbs of boost, but be very careful with it. I'm sure he'll want more boost, but the engine will indeed blow.
i've talked him out of it. he doesnt need to blow up his engine when he just bought it. thanks for the info guys!
