Adjusting Steeda Clutch Cable

Do you have the firewall mounted clutch adjuster? If so, it's just a quick turn at the firewall to adjust the clutch. 
If you have a FWA, turn it most of the way in (make it short, as in turn it CW). This gives you a good starting point.
Adjust the cable [at the fork] so there is zero slack in the cable.
Now you can fine tune it at the FWA as the cable stretches, etc.
If you do not have a FWA, no biggie. Future adjustments are made at the fork instead of the FWA.

Hissin you may be right, i have a bbk quadrant i got off a friend of mine. I was useing the stock quadrant on my last cable. And decided to put the bbk*** on when i got a new one. Both cables are the same length so it has to be the quadrant.
Should i order a steeda quadrant from 50resto? I would put the stocker back in but it was a pita to get both plastics off.

Whatever you do, don't put a stock quadrant and pawl back on.
I'd get an OEM style cable and a quadrant that works with a stock cable (most quadrants do work with OEM style cables. MM, UPR, et al for example).
Alternatively, if you have a Steeda cable, just get what you need to make that work (steeda quadrant, etc).
I'd rather do the former option. It'll be 100 bucks or so for the cable and quadrant.

make sure when adjusting the cable that is hasnt come off the hook oh the quadrant,very common.if you have a firewall adj then make sure its almost all the way screwed in toward the firewall,if not no big deal.next route the cable and put the quadrant side on,then take the nuts off the adjustable side of the cable,keep tension on the cable by hand and route it thru the bell and fork in the lower hole.once its thru keep pulling tension on it while threading the nuts on.thread on till there is little to no slack in the cable and you should be good to go from there.any other adjustments can be made at the firewall if you have one.the reason i kept saying keep tension on the cable is so it does not slip off the quadrant without you realizing it.im using a steeda cable with no firewall and a bbk quadrant,so i know it works.maybe they gave you diff year cable.
Thank you, very helpful. I have the whole Steeda cable and quad setup, and it has been working excellent. One quick question. Since you screw the FWA all the way into the firewall, I am guessing that you screw it the opposite way to adjust it, correct? How much should you turn the FWA for small adjustments? (Ex: Quarter turn, half turn, etc.) Should it be in gear when adjusting the FWA? If so, which gear? Your feed back is VERY much appreciated!

unscrewing the fwa removes slack in the cable (moves the friction point up higher on the pedal).
the amount of adjustment depends where you're starting. 1/2 to one full turn increments should get you close quickly.
