Advice for a set of heads and intake for a 347cu.

I just broke in my 347 stroker and now Im looking to throw on some heads and an intake. It doesnt have to be emissions legal since I removed the smog equipment. Im looking for a good powerband between 1500-6500 rpms. Im looking for more mid-high rpm power since I have more torque now. However I need it to be able to just bolt on with no modifications from machining. Im not building a race only car. Its a daily driven street car that sees weekend duty at the dragstrip. Its speed density for now but I know I might have to change it to mass air later. The car runs okay right now after the stroker, so it doesnt need it for now. Any expirances or help would be greatly appreciated.

vic JR's are too big for a 347 N/A you need intake flow velocity get some 185's part#1388 and the holley or RPMII intake!

I do not know what camshaft you are using, to get the full potential. I would throw on a set of Dart Pro 1 195's or the TFS street heats, depending on cam. As far as an intake is concerned you can't hardly go wrong with the good old Systemax.

LOL, that HAS to be a joke!!

Another vote for the victor jr's. I'd use victor jr heads, custom cam/springs, TFS r or victor 5.0 manifold, 1 3/4" longtubes

I just got January 06 issue of 5.0 Mustang today and they tested the new BBK SSI, FRPP GT-40, Edelbrock Performer RPM II, Holley Systemax II, and Trick Flow Track Heat intakes on a 347, and in the end of the article I'll quote " the Performer RPM II was this test's top dog-the only in take to sneak past the 450hp barrier. It posted the highest peak power, both in rpm and horsepower, and it hangs on to its power-making potential longer than the other intakes. Some of these trends are not huge, but they are pronounced enough to label the RPM II as the most horsepower-friendly intake here." Not saying its the best for your combo though....

Victor Jr's all the way. I ahd victor jr's on my 302 and they worked great! I now have them on my 331 carbed application and it makes 406 the the wheels at just under 6500 rpm

Victor jr.s are just the right head, either them or the Twisted wedges that are Cnc'ed.
The street heats are great heads too, but i believe they require a header that only mac makes, that aren't so good, because they don't mate up to a normal shorty h pipe very well, and they are long tubes, that may also interfere with the steering shaft.
RPm II intake.
I hear the holley is a good 347 intake, but have not see that in person, so i really have no opinion as of yet.

The victor is a better intake for a race car, especially one that likes to goto 7000+ rpm. Probably not optimal for a DD.

Whatever heads you buy will likely need a valve job, and spring seat pressure check, regardless.

Another vote for the Victor Jr heads. I would run a Victor 5.0 intake as well. I have used the RPM 2 intake and was not very impressed.

I also have a 347. My combo is TFS twisted wedge heads with a TFS street intake. they work awsome, now that i have a SC i need more intake so I am probalbly going with a TFS-R series or the new trick flow intake the Box-R.
