Figuring I need new rotors and pads, :bang: I have decided to just upgrade the whole front brakes. :D

If anyone has any adice on what / where / price / opinions please post them...

I am thinking of getting one of those $400-500 kits that have 13" Xdrilled rotors, Cobra Calibers, SS hoses, etc.

i personally wouldnt get drilled or slotted rotors. the drilled holes can create weak points and can crack the rotor when put under high stress. the slots generally arent needed anymore with newer brake pads.

i plan on getting the front and rear cobra conversion with plain rotors and stainless lines.

If you're gonna do it just spend the money and get either the 2kR Brembo kit or the Saleen Kit for around a K. You'll be happier in the long run... unless you don't have wheels that can clear the calipers...

I bought the 10th anniversary cobra calipers off ebay for $350 plus $30 shipping. added power slot rotors and SS lines. Getting ready for the install this weekend. I have a question about the brake lines, do I need SS lines for the rears, or will the standards be fine with SS lines up front. Thanks

If you can afford it, get 'em now. If not they will become a weak spot in your setup...You're better off with them...

appreciate the advice, just curious why i need them though? i thought the rears were mostly used for the parking brake.

SS lines in the front make them stronger. With fluids, it's all about finding a weak spot, because they don't compress. SS in front rubber in rear. Rubber<SS. Rubber will give out first. Not REALLY an issue unless you have some racing to do or repeated emergency stops that could cause them to fail do to the increased pressure from fluid that has no where else to go.

Just my thoughts. I'm sure there are some brake gurus on here that can give a better explanation than I. So wait patiently for other opinions...

It took forever to get mine from speedconcepts. I got them only after I threatened the guy. If you don't mind ignored phone calls and unanswered email, the price is decent.

Why on earth would you do that, you can buy a complete kit with the brackets, (grey or red) cobra calipers, new 13" rotors, and lines for $400 all day long.

If anyone knows where to get these kits for $400 let me know. Trying to avoid Speed conecepts since people have said they take a while.

Also, The 13" Rotors will fit under the 17" Bullit Wheels that are on the premium models right?

Thx.

Because I bought all four calipers, not two, hence the question regarding the rears.
